Seamless connectivity between Nagaland and New Delhi became a reality on December 26 with the arrival of first direct flight to Dimapur Airport from New Delhi.

The Indigo 6E 2433 arriving from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) with 149 passengers on board was welcomed with traditional water cannon salutes by spraying arcs of water over the flight.

“Very good response to the newly introduced flight,” the Dimapur Airport Director Mughavi Zhimo informed The Morung Express.

The arrival flight had 149 passengers while 139 were on board the departing flight 6E 2434 from Dimapur, he added.

Likewise, the flight will take off from IGI at 11:30 am and is expected to reach the Dimapur Airport at 2:05 pm, with just 2 hours and 35 minutes travel time.

Booking information on the Indigo website informed that the direct flight will be operational thrice a week – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
