DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 27 (MExN): A three-day Entrepreneurship Development Program was conducted from February 25 to 27 at the Integrated Business Hub & Innovation Centre in Dimapur. The event was organized by Swavalamban Connect Kendras (SCKs) Dimapur in collaboration with the District Administration, Dimapur.
The program's opening session featured Puloto K.V. Sumi, Inspector at the District Industries Centre (DIC), who spoke on the role of the DIC and its support mechanisms for entrepreneurs. Sumi outlined various schemes available under DIC to assist businesses in both urban and rural areas, noting that 70% of the unorganized sector in the state is targeted for support.
On the second day, Imtitoshi Imsong, Deputy Manager at the Agri & MSME Credit Centre (AMCC), delivered a session on financial literacy, loans, and schemes available for business development. Imsong emphasized the importance of loans for business growth and discussed the challenges faced by the Naga community, particularly loan defaults on small amounts, which affect access to larger loans.
The final day included presentations from several speakers, including Gurumayum Ramkumar Sharma, Assistant Manager at the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Dimapur; Tolen, Trainer at Unnati Skills Training Centre; Nikaholi Sumi, Facilitator at the Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC); and Vekulu Demo, Centre Manager at SCK Dimapur. These speakers shared insights on their respective organizations' roles in promoting entrepreneurship and business growth in the region.
The program was attended by 28 participants, with the aim of supporting them through micro-financing, schemes, and access to loans. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants by Litsenthung Kikon, EAC, Dimapur.
