Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation organises medical camp in Phek

Phek, November 30 (MExN): A free medical camp organized by the Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation was held in Phek District Hospital on November 26 and 27. This medical camp is part of the state-wide campaign initiated by the Governor of Nagaland, Padmanabha Acharya through his brainchild, the Indian National Fellowship Centre, Mumbai and coordinated by the Government of Nagaland.  

The medical team comprised of Dr. Kezevituo Keditsu, Dr. Azo Louis, Dr. Alemwapang, Dr. Thejavinuo Keditsu Kire, Dr. Keneisenuo Kire and Dr. Toshevi Sema Keditsu. The doctors accompanied by 5 nurses, 3 paramedics, 1 engineer and 3 drivers travelled to Phek and worked with the medical staff of Phek District Hospital.  

A total of 175 patients registered for treatment. Nine major surgeries: 6 laparoscopic appendectomy, 1 total abdominal hysterectomy, 1 myomectomy and 1 laparoscopic cholecystectomy. 7 cases of laparoscopic ligations (permanent family planning) were done and 4 copper-T (IUD) were INSERT IGNOREed. Cervical cancer screening and Pap smears were taken. Ultrasound screening was done for 30 patients during the medical camp. 30 tooth extractions were performed.  

The Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation was set up with the objectives of helping Naga society in the areas of medical care, women empowerment, education, rural development and environmental preservation. The foundation expressed gratitude to P. Acharya for the opportunity to be part of his campaign for national integration through cultural exchanges within India.
