Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur has issued a clarification stating that the COVID-19 patient from Nagaland did not visit the hospital to avail medical services at any point of time. The statement was issued by the hospital management on April 13, in response to the fake messages being circulated on social media that the COVID-19 patient had visited Eden Medical Centre.
The statement said that the management is “deeply hurt” by the fake message and is contemplating legal actions to trace the origin of the message and subsequent punitive actions.
The hospital said that while the patient did not visit Eden Medical Centre, the ambulance used to transport the patient to Guwahati belonged to the hospital. “The ambulance was also sent straight to the quarantine centre in Dimapur on return,” the hospital management representative told The Morung Express on Monday. As precautionary measures, the driver and the handy man of the ambulance are also under quarantine, he added.
