DIMAPUR, APRIL 13 (MExN): The All Nagaland Fair Price Shop Association (ANFPSA) has appealed to the Nagaland Government to provide fair price shops with safety medical kits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when needed, along with security to labour and trucks transporting goods from depots to the fair prices shops. It also appealed to the government to provide “life insurance of 90 days (as provided in other states).”
A press release from the association stated that fair price shops have been doing their best in serving the populace by working as per orders issued by the Government and FCI department. It added that the shops have been doing their best to follow the guidelines in maintaining social distancing and bearing all expenses of buying medical safety kits such as hand wash, sanitizers etc.
However, with the detection of the first COVID-19 case from the State, the association stated that there is fear as these shops serve hundreds of people every week without having proper medical/healthcare training, PPE and kits.
It meanwhile acknowledged the District Administrations, Director FCI & team, the police &security personnel, Chairmen/GBs & youth of different colony and IRCS volunteer for their support and guidance and further requested them to work cohesively in order to provide better services at this present emergency crisis.
