Kohima, January 13 (MExN): A store room was gutted and a RCC building was partially damaged after a fire broke out at Lower Officer Hill colony in Kohima on January 13.
The team from Fire Station, Kohima South proceeded to control the fire after receiving a fire call at 1:04 am, said an update from the Fire & Emergency Services.
It stated that the fire tenders with sufficient equipments and fire personnel pressed into action. The team took 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Due to timely information and response, fire was prevented from spreading further to the surrounding buildings. “Property worth Rs 3 lakh could be salvaged while property worth Rs 1.60 lakh approximately was lost in the inferno,” said Kenny Khing, RO (E) (F&ES), Nagaland.
“Cause of fire is under investigation. There was no casualty,” he added.
The response team was led by Duty Commander, SI Sevi Kera and ASI, Menose Zashumo.
