• Hope and the spirit of Easter will prevail, says Gov
• CM thanks all frontline workers and stakeholders
DIMAPUR, APRIL 11 (MExN): Nagaland Governor, RN Ravi today extended Easter greetings to the people of the State, stating that “hope,” which is in the spirit of Easter, will prevail.
“While Easter is celebrated around the world in memory of the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ, let us remember that it symbolises ‘hope’. Hope for a new beginning following a sacrifice made out of pure love. Jesus demonstrates the pure love for all mankind with selfless sacrifice. His resurrection demonstrates victory of love over hate,” a press release from the Nagaland Governor stated.
He noted that this year Easter is being celebrated under the shadow of global covid-19 pandemic, which has compelled a Country-wide Lockdown. The Governor however stated: “Let us celebrate this pious and joyous occasion at home with our family, let us do things little different this year by making it a one of a kind celebration with just family.” There are plenty of ways to make it special, he added.
On this occasion, he urged everyone to “keep our people, our Countrymen and humanity in our prayers.” “We are in no doubt that the spirit of Easter shall prevail. The COVID-19 shall be defeated,” the Governor affirmed.
Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio also extended Easter greetings and thanked the tireless efforts of the front line workers, the government officials, various organisations, village councils, the media fraternity and all stakeholders.
“Each of you are doing an exemplary job and I implore you to keep your spirits up and continue to fight this battle. I am aware that emotions are high and there is a great sense of unease everywhere. In such a situation misinformation can take hold. I request each one of you to stay informed through the official notifications and orders and to disseminate verified information to all fellow citizens,” he appealed.
“As we observe the commemoration of Christ’s triumph over death, this Easter Sunday with the message of renewed hope and love, let us thank and praise God for sparing our people thus far from this dreaded COVID-19 pestilence,” the Chief Minister prayed.
