Jalukie, November 8 (MExN): Several Jalukie based organizations have condemned the attempt to rape a minor girl allegedly by one Yihamo Lotha (45) on November 7 in Jalukie Town.
JTWWO: Jalukie Town Women Welfare Organisation (JTWWO) in a statement termed such act “barbaric and heinous” and urged the law enforcing authority to give highest punishment to the accused. Meanwhile, it warned that “any attempt to release, negotiate or bail the case will invite stern action from the women organisation, may it be political, relative or any individual levels.” Asserting that it has zero tolerance against such crime, JTWWO asked the district magistrate to take the case seriously and award exemplary punishment so as to discourage reoccurrences of such crime.
JPN: The Jalukie Pumling Nko (JPN) informed that the victim had a narrow escape. When the accused was about to commit the crime, his cell phone buzzed and the child managed to flee and reported the matter to her parents, JPN stated. While denouncing the act, JPN warned that Jalukie land has no place for person of such “inhuman and evil” mindset. It appealed to the district administration and judiciary to initiate highest action against the accused and urged the law enforcing authority not to entertain any bail plea from any section of people. “Any person trying to show solidarity to the accused will invite unintended actions,” it added. JPN also acknowledged all who intervened immediately in nabbing the accused.
JSU: Jalukie Students’ Union (JSU) expressed resentment and condemned “such attempt when everyone is striving to live in a civilized society and peaceful environment free from any social evil and immorality.” The union urged the law enforcing authority to award highest punishment as per the law and also requested all right thinking citizens to condemn such act and not to allow any bail. It further demanded that the government compensate the victim and provide necessary assistance to bring her out of the trauma.
HHYNYO: The Heneingpeina Hepui Nko Youth Organization (HHYNYO) while condemning the incident maintained that “there cannot be any worst state of situation when our kids are not safe in an environment of a town in broad daylight; such immoral behaviour is foreign to Naga community and should be condemned by all right thinking citizens.” HHYNYO urged the authority concerned to award punishment to the accused as deemed fit.
Ilungheing Chame: The Ilungheing Chame in a statement also censured “such an act by an elderly person” and hoped that the authority concerned will take necessary action and deliver justice.
DCYO: The Dobashi Colony Youth Organization (DCYO), Jalukie expressed condemnation at the incident and asserted that such kind of inhuman act should not be tolerated in any form.
Ward-1 Colony Council: The Colony Council of Ward-1 Jalukie Town strongly decried the act and with all seriousness appealed to the authority concerned to award the “most severe punishment” to the accused “without any leniency or reservation.”
