DIMAPUR, JUNE 21 (MExN): The Dimapur District Health Department is carrying out a month long Anti-Malaria activities under National Vector Bone Disease Control Program (NVBDCP). The month of June is observed as Anti-Malaria month by carrying out awareness activities. This time, the public are being made aware of the preventive measures of malaria and other vector borne diseases. Emphasis will be laid on the importance of using mosquito net, to curb breeding of mosquitoes and using other mosquito repellents. Malaria Screening Camps are also being carried out in villages under the district. Besides preventive measures, the public are also made aware of the facilities provided free-of-cost by the Government for testing and treatment of malaria in the District. Awareness programs were also carried out for school children and their parents. 6 villages; namely Pehekhu, Lothavi, Naharbari, Medziphema, Singrijan, and Nagarjan have been covered during the month-long observation. The urban areas are also being covered under the Urban Malaria Scheme.
