Kohima dist bids farewell to outgoing DC

Kohima, January 19 (MExN): A farewell programme in honour of the outgoing Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Mohammed Ali Shihab A IAS was held in DC’s conference hall on January 19.

A DIPR report stated that the outgoing DC in his farewell speech thanked everyone for their unconditional love and support. Whatever the district has achieved during his tenure were possible because of the joint efforts contributed by everyone and thanked Angami Public Organisation, Rengma Hoho, various organisations/agencies, GBs, DBs, administrative officers, line departments for their assistance and support towards the achievements, the outgoing DC stated. 

On the ongoing activities under the district, he pointed out that with collective support and assistance from the Principal Secretary CM, ANSU, Science College Principal and team and Village Council Jotsoma the suggestions made to solve the Kohima Science College land issue have been approved by the Cabinet on December 18, 2020 for further necessary action. He also mentioned on some ongoing road activities in Kohima, where he expressed his optimism to achieve some logistic conclusion very soon.  

Additional Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa speaking on behalf of officers and staff appreciated the outgoing DC for his good coordination with the high authority and through his initiatives many things could be achieved in a record time. 

The ADC said that the outgoing DC has joined the Office on October 9, 2020 when the nominations were taking place for Southern Angami Bye Election amidst COVID pandemic. He willingly took the challenges and conducted peaceful and safe Election by maintaining all the COVID protocols under his initiatives. ADC also pointed out that under his initiatives, the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) for the welfare of DC’s staff could be able to take up during this pandemic and got the approval from the Cabinet.

Superintendent of Police Kohima, Manoj Kumar who also spoke on the occasion also expressed his admiration on the quality of positive attitude towards works hold by the outgoing DC. He said that lot of achievements, works and efforts have been contributed by the outgoing DC during his short tenure and added that his sincerity and dedication sets as an example for everyone to follow.

The farewell programme was chaired by EAC (Sadar), Kevingoto Kulnu while invocation was offered by Ketuoravi Marina and special number was presented by Dobashis of DC’s Office, Kohima.
