Justice H. Hukato Swu and learned counsels attending to urgent cases on April 22 through video conference.
Kohima, April 22 (MExN): Limited Court functioning of the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench has resumed from April 20.
A press release from the Public Relations Assistant, Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) informed that the following officers have been appointed as Nodal Officers—EL Watty, Deputy Registrar (Judicial)- 9436010054; Francis Sote, Systems Officer- 9774415996; and Arnento Asumi, Programmer – 9612904628.
Meanwhile the Registrar, Gauhati High Court (Kohima Bench) Neiko Akami in a notification has informed that requests for urgent hearing of matters may be sent and received through the email id-recnahckohinia09mail.com.
“The learned Counsels are required to give intimation to the Computer Cell, 3 (working) days prior to the proposed hearing to anyone of the Nodal Officers,” the notification added. Cases are to be filed in the manner as already in vogue. The index of each case is required to clearly give the nature of document, page number etc; and petition is required to be sequentially page numbered.
The Counsels have also been asked to “submit cogent reasons for such urgent listing of matters via e-mail in the format Annexure I and the same shall be placed before the concerned Judge holding a particular roster on a given date.” If the Judge is of the view that the matter is of urgent nature, the same shall be listed before the Court as per the process mentioned.
The District Courts have also been directed to make necessary arrangements of video conferencing facility for taking up of urgent matters.
It may also be mentioned that the cases are being taken up through video conference facility wherein mention of Causelist are convened from 10:30 am onwards. On April 22, a total of 5 cases were listed.
