Dimapur, December 27 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today extended congratulations to its chairman Isak Chishi Swu on his “attaining” ‘50 years of selfless and dedicated service’ to the “nation”. Separate messages from the outfit’s steering committee and ‘kyong region’ claimed him to be an “icon” and even a “role model”. “The sufferings endured during this long period of struggle by this great leader is by no means an ordinary feat. Yaruiwo Isak Chishi has since become an icon of a people’s struggle against oppression. His simple lifestyle and his belief in forgiving have made him a role model for the coming generations” the steering committee stated.
In a separate message the outfit’s Kyong region expressed “immense joy and pride to thank God” on Swu’s “50th anniversary of your selfless service”. Congratulating him on what the region’s note called “auspicious occasion”, the region reaffirmed and rededicated its unflinching support to work under the leadership of Swu, Khodao Yanthan and Th.Muviah. Praying blessings on Swu, the steering committee and Kyong region wished him good health, long life and ‘God’s wisdom’ to lead the Nagas.
