Lotha Colony Football Club (LCFC) defeated Dimapur Tsungiki Football Club (DTFC) 3-1 to lift the 23rd Late Nyamo Lotha and Late Daniel Lotha Memorial Football Running Trophy at the State Stadium here on November 7. The tournament was organized by Dimapur Lotha Students Union.
LCFC dominated from the very start taking greater control of the ball in the face of a rather weak DTFC midfield. The initial opportunities that DTFC got at goal went in vain as their forays got thwarted. LCFC finally seized control with Woben sending home the breakthrough goal. He later extended the lead making it 2-0.
DTFC came back strongly following the break to reduce the margin through Nyamo Kikon's strike. But LCFC recovered from the shocker with its skipper Ajamo Lotha making good use of an opportunity to make it 3-1.
Alongwith the trophy sponsored by the families of late Nyamo Lotha and late Daniel Lotha, the champions won Rs. Rs. 70,000 in prize money, while the runners-up received Rs. 50,000.
