
Pungro, April 26 (MExN): Former President of Public Forum Pungro Sub- Division (PFPSD) S Kiusumew Yimchunger along with GBs, officials of PFPSD and leaders from various organizations visited villages under Pungro sub-division that were affected by the hailstorm on April 21 last.
On April 21, it was reported that hailstones and strong winds damaged houses and standing crops and fruits at several villages under Pungro sub- division of Kiphire district including, Salomi, Moya, Pinkim, Kongsa Town, Old Vongti, New Vongti, Pungro village, Pungro town and Kiuro.
According to a press release, during the visit on April 25, the leaders various organizations and individuals donated cash and expressed solidarity with the affected families.
Kiusumew requested the state government and civil society organizations to extend help in terms of monetary assistance, prayer and support towards the affected families during this juncture, it said.
Further, he expressed gratitude to the Village Guards, the Administration, the medical fraternity and Police personnel for their hard work and support towards the public, especially in the light of the COVID -19 pandemic.
