Legislators meet with COVID-19 DTF in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, April 27 (MExN): A meeting between Mokokchung legislators and the COVID-19 District Task Force (DTF)was held at the ADC Planning’s Conference Hall on April 27. The meeting reviewed and discussed on the preparedness of the Task Force in the eventuality of a possible outbreak in the district.


Members at the meeting included Minister for Housing and Mechanical, Tongpang Ozukum and Advisor for Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill development & Entrepreneurship Imnatiba, and members of the District Task force headed by Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner Limawabang Jamir, a DIPR report stated.  


The report stated that preparedness activities like COVID-19 Hospital status, Quarantine facilities and disposal of dead bodies, return of stranded students/people to the district were thoroughly discussed, it said.


Further, the Minister is said to have appealed members to sensitize the general public especially the rural populace on the do’s and don’ts in the fight against the dreaded virus. He assured that he, along with his colleagues will pursue the grievances of the district, if there are an, at the higher level.


The meeting was also attended by representatives from Ao Senden, Ao Baptist Arogo Mokokchung and NGOs. 

 

Helpline for COVID-19 Control Room

Meanwhile, citizens of Mokokchung district have been informed to contact the dedicated Helpline Number at the Control Room for COVID-19 which is located in the District Headquarter for any event relating to COVID-19. The numbers are: (0369)2226231 (Landline) and 8131836575 (WhatsApp).

 

Area wise sensitization commences

Area wise (Sub- Division) Sensitization on COVID-19 in Mokokchung district commenced today at Town Hall Mokokchung, with representatives from 18 Villages and 3 Units from Ongpangkong Range.


According to a DIPR report, the sensitization program will go on till May 3.


Members present in the program include three Village Council members representing every Village/Unit, Pastor from all Village/Unit and two teachers from every Village/Unit.


The Sensitization Team on COVID-19 are Chief Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Officer, Mokokchung, Dr BM Sunep; ZLO Dr Yanger and EAC Ongpangkong (South), Sangpangchang Longkumer, the report stated.
