ZUNHEBOTO, APRIL 22 (MExN): Legislators in-charge of COVID-19 efforts in Zunheboto district, G Kaito Aye, Minister for Agriculture & Cooperation and Khehovi Yepthomi, Advisor for Tourism, Art & Culture, today visited the district headquarter and held a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s COVID-19 war room with the District Task Force. District preparedness on COVID-19, micro plan and containment strategy was discussed during the meeting.
During the meeting, the legislators stated that the government is doing everything possible to address the needs of the people including those living below poverty line, daily wagers, students and stranded persons both inter-district and inter-state. The two legislators along with the District Administration and the Task Force assured that there will be no shortage in supply of essential commodities and therefore requested the public not to panic, a press release informed.
The legislators assisted the district with protective equipment, sprayers, fogging machine, N95 & 3 layer masks, hand sanitizers. The release also stated that with the intervention of the legislators, a ventilator, cardiac monitor along with beds for the proposed Quarantine Centre, PPEs, disinfectant, oxygen etc, from the Directorate of Health &Family Welfare, Kohima reached the district headquarters.
Further, the legislators appreciated the frontline workers of the district – District Administration, Medical Department, Police, DTF, town and village leaders, volunteers and all those involved in the war against the deadly virus and thanked them for their service.
While praying that no person from the district would fall victim of the Novel Coronavirus, they appealed the public to cooperate with the government to contain the spread of the virus by staying safe at home, maintaining social distancing and by adhering to the rules of safety laid down by the government, the release stated.
