The Morung Express has been approachinga cross-section of people to gather their views on how they are spending their time during the nationwide lockdown period.

Acclaimed singer Mengu Suokhrie said “The lockdown is of course not normal and pleasant but I understand that it is for everyone's safety and therefore it is my duty as a citizen to comply by the safety rules regarding COVID-19.”

Suokhrie said that she mostly spends her time watching documentaries.

“Israel's 6 days’ war of 1967- BBC Documentary, Nazi Hunters-A documentary film about YoM Kippur War 1973 and Revenge of the 1972 Munich Olympics etc,” were some of the documentaries she listed.

“In this lockdown I am also listening to alot of different genres of music, learning new songs and yes, writing some new songs too,” she stated.

Suokhrie also spends her time with her family and keeps herself busy with gardening.

To those stuck at home she says: “I only pray that everyone continues to keep the spirit high. We are not hopeless/despair. God is with us and He will surely make a way.”

Make good use of the social media platforms and stay connected, she said adding “I do come live on my social accounts, sometimes to sing some songs and times I come in live just to connect and interact. You can all do that too.”

“Maintain social distancing while going out for emergency or performing duty. Let us continue to fight the virus by eating right and healthy food, stay active and stay home for now,” she added.

If there is any needy person around you, share with them or atleast identify them or get them news or information and get them help, she encouraged.

She further asked people to refrain from spreading false news, panic and confusion.

Fitness trainer Ape Puro meanwhile shared that at present he is watching a movie called “The Masked Saint.”

Puroh has also been spending the lockdown period learning carpentry. “My health is always my wealth,” he further said, adding that he does regular exercise.

“Protect yourself and your family- Reduces the risk of life. Keep calm. Stay Home,” Puro urges.
