Chümoukedima, September 28 (MExN): The annual conference cum get together of Lotha Officers’ Association (LOA) was held at Angh Hall, Agri Expo 4th mile, Chümoukedima on September 28.
As per the DIPR report, Principal Secretary, Government of Nagaland, EM Patton, IA&AS who graced the conference as the special guest, exhorted the officers stating, “Just because you will be reaching the top, don't underestimate others because service career is unexpected with twist and turns.” He urged them to work hard, pray and believe in God. Emphasising on the importance of relationship and networking, he asserted “building strong relationship and networking as a good investment.”
“We should make conscious effort for appreciating the positive side of others and accommodate other people’s interest,” Patton added.
On the occasion, the special guest launched the 2nd edition of LOA history booklet.
Dr ML Ngullie, Retd Principal exhorted the gathering for inventing new ideas and implementing them so that one does not become obsolete. Further, he advised them to keep themselves updated to keep pace with the changing times.
Er N Izamo Yanthan, Superintending Engineer AIR & DD (CCW) Kolkata, challenged the officers to be the change maker around them wherever posted, with their valuable contribution. Stressing on the importance of participation, Yanthan encouraged them for their physical and financial participation in the neighborhood and community not for one's personal gain but for the welfare and betterment of the society.
Nongothung Jungio (IRS) Director of Income Tax, Ministry of Finance, Government of India opined “change as the driving force that embraced innovation” and observed that “resistance of change will make one lack behind.” To stay relevant in this ever changing world, tax department is keeping pace with the changing times of digital revolution, he added.
Additional DGP (Admn) Nagaland, Renchamo P Kikon, IPS challenged the officers for introspecting whether their performance serves the purpose for contributing and safeguarding the larger interest of the society. He reminded them to constantly re-evaluate the correlation between their performance and purpose. Kikon called upon the Lotha officers for introspecting whether the laid down goals and objectives of the Association are served and justified.
Delivering the welcome note, LOA President, K Libanthung Lotha IAS appreciated the support and cooperation of the Lotha officers, and reminded them that the responsibilities given to the officers with trust and confidence needs to be carried out thus bearing fruits for the coming generation.
Invocation was pronounced by Rev Limhathung Lotha, Pastor Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar while a minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed Lotha officers. Other highlights included special renditions by Thunglamo Ngullue, Eyilobeni Kikon, Emilo Patton and entertainment.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Vice President, Kyopenthung Tsopoe and benediction was offered by Rev Fr Philip Yanpvuthung, Principal, Holy Cross Hr Secondary School, Dimapur.
