The Nagaland Police has received a major ‘reinforcement’ in its rank and file, with the approval for creation of 10 posts for the Nagaland Police Service (NPS) as well as for upgrading 4 posts.
The changes were part of NPS cadre review approved by the State Cabinet on December 18, informed a notification from the Principal Secretary (Home ), Abjihit Sinha on December 21.
The Governor of Nagaland is pleased to convey the approval for creation of 10 posts and upgrading of 4 posts with ‘Immediate effect,’ it said.
The newly created posts include one Superintendent of Police (Cyber Security), SP (Modernization), SP (Economic Offence); and Commandant, Counter Insurgency and Anti-terrorism School (CIATS), Ruzaphema (See Table).
Presently, the ten posts are not part of the organizational structure of the state police as per the Nagaland Police website.
Another notification issued on December 21 informed on the upgradation of 4 posts in the NPS set up.
It included upgrading of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Crime) to that of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Dimapur; Assistant Commandant 10th NAP (IR) to that of the Deputy Commandant Quarter Master, NAPTC; Assistant Commandant 11th NAP (IR) to that of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Protocol/Traffic), Dimapur; and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Security), Establishment of IGP (INT) to that of Additional Superintendent of Police (Security), Establishment of IGP (INT).
The new posts have the clearance of Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department, concurrence of Finance Department and approval of Manpower Rationalization Committee, the notifications added.
