MCCI appeals public to remain calm

Mokokchung, April 14 (MExN): In view of the country-wide lockdown being extended till May 3 and the detection of a positive COVID 19 case from Dimapur, the Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) on Tuesday appealed to the people of Mokokchung not to panic but remain calm and follow the protocols issued by competent authorities.


In a press release, the MCCI President and General Secretary reassured citizens that there is no shortage of essential commodities in the market and that all efforts are being made to ensure that it remains so. It also requested the public not to hoard or panic-buy stating “We will not buy back the stockpile from hoarders and panic-buyers when the market returns to normal post May 3.”


Further, MCCI appreciated the public for cooperating with the authorities and bearing with the inconvenience during the lockdown period. It also extended its support to the front-line workers and first responders, the Mokokchung District Task Force on COVID-19, the Core Committee on Essential Commodities COVID-19 Mokokchung and all stakeholders in the fight against the pandemic.
