Dimapur: The Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) conducted a medical camp at various relief camps of Karbi Anglong district of Assam on February 9.
The relief committee along with TUD president, Khalo Kapfo accompanying a team of doctors and nurses expressed dissatisfaction over the system, shifting from one school to another instead of providing materials and sending them back to their villages. As the academic session has started, it expressed concern that the authority must accommodate students in various schools and release ex-gratia to the dead, compensate every household whose houses and granaries were burned down completely.
The TUD relief community convenor Shekoyi Nyakha and Secretary Chiru Thuzu in a press release has expressed gratitude to Dr Detsolo Mero M.S Civil Hospital Dimapur for providing medicines and sending doctors and nurses to the needy persons who are suffering from malnutrition. The total number of patients attended were 298. The medical team comprised of Dr. Philip Kent MO DHD, Dr. Sashi Jamir (MO), Dr Imkongsanen (MO), Dr. R. Kate (MO), K. Sentibenla (staff nurse), Narola (M/A), Atsungba (M/A).
Meanwhile, the TUD president was shocked to know that the elected member of legislative assembly from Bokajan constituency from Karbi Anglong and NC hills has not visited the relief camps. “The people’s representative who has been selected to address the need, welfare of the people was observed to be bias and requested him to be a leader of justice. As peoples mandate he is requested to treat every community equally while delivering his responsibilities,” the TUD added.
