Mokokchung legislators inspect border areas

Minister Tongpangand Advisor Imnatiba at Kangtsung Yimsen Interstate check post, under Mokokchung district.

 

Mokokchung, April 23 (MExN): In order to check the ongoing COVID-19 preventive works around border areas and health centers, Minister for Housing and Mechanical Tongpang Ozukum and Advisor Industries & Commerce, Lab & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Imbatiba visited Watiyongpang check gate, under Tuli sub division, Mokokchung on April 23 to interact with the medical professionals, security and administrative officers stationed at the interstate border areas.


Minister Tongpang Ozukum and Advisor Imnatiba started its first leg of inspection of the Public Health Centres and interstate border areas at Tuli sub-division under Mokokchung district.


The Minister after its inspection said that the state government is doing their best with whatever resources and man power that is available at their disposal in preparation to fight this global pandemic. 


According to a press release issued by the Press Secretary to Tongpang Ozukum, during the inspection, certain grievances were heard and observed which needs to be addressed and will be highlighted to the appropriate authorities at the earliest. 


It was observed that Langpongkong range shares a very porous border with Assam but the main concern is of areas which have no check gates. Tongpang appreciated the sacrifices being made by the frontline workers, police force, administrations and the village authorities. He also added that importance should be given to the entire border areas in Nagaland inorder to contain the deadly virus. 


The Minister also appreciated the state home department for deploying two platoon of 13 NAP as requested by Langpangkong citizens' organizations to man the interstate border. 


The Minister also asked the villagers especially residing in the border areas to continue assisting the police force and the administration. The honourable minister also asked the village councils to strictly implement social distancing in their respective villages.


Advisor Imnatiba shared the same concern and said the Cabinet has stressed to keep all the border areas sealed, he however maintained that there should be certain relaxation and small and medium scale industries should be allowed to run in districts like Dimapur and Tuli as normal life has been badly affected.


The minister and the team visited Watiyongpang interstate check gate, Kangtsung yimsen interstate check gate. The entourage also inspected CHC Tuli, CHC Changtongya, PHC Chuchuyimlang and PHC Mongsenyimti. 
The minister was accompanied by Addl SP, Mokokchung, ADC Tuli, EAC Tuli and a host of other officials.
