Mokokchung: On March 23, at around 4:30 am, while conducting frisking at New Camp area, personnel of Mokokchung Police Station II seized and recovered IMFL. The items includes: McDowell Rum-30 cases, McDowell Whiskey-4 cases and Canned beer- 20 cases from one vehicle bearing registration No.NL02-D-4333 (TATA) bound for Mokokchung from Assam.
In this connection, one person namely Papu Kumar 24 years was arrested and a regular case has been registered vide Mokokchung Police Station II Case No. 0005/14 U/S 44 NLTP Act.
The SP Mokokchung in a press release stated that the said vehicle passed through Tsutapela and AR check gates without detection as the consignment was very neatly packed and concealed in milk powder, Biscuit, Sweet cartons etc. However, on thorough checking at New Camp area the consignment was detected.
