Affecting a major clampdown on public movement in the district, the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung has on April 4 issued a new order that all shops selling essential commodities are to open only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays of the week and that they are to remain closed on all other days. However, pharmacies are to remain open on all days.
The DC of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir stated that the order was effective throughout the entire district of Mokokchung till further orders. The order also warned that any person or group acting in violation of the order shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under section 188 of the Indian Panel Code.
Mkg DC directs village, ward COVID-19 Task Force
Mokokchung DC Limawabang Jamir today directed all the Village Task Force COVID-19 and Ward Task Force COVID-19 in Mokokchung district to operate strictly as per government guidelines. The deputy commissioner warned that strict action will be initiated against anyone acting in contravention to the guidelines.
The DC also informed that the Village Task Force COVID-19 and Ward Task Force COVID-19 have been constituted as per government directive and that they are in operation in respective villages and wards in Mokokchung district as per the directives of the district administration. “Therefore, all the officials on duty and the public are to extend cooperation towards the Ward Task Force COVID-19 and Village Task Force COVID-19,” the DC informed.
IMDH in-patients to be shifted to Lenjem Hospital
Mokokchung DC Limawabang Jamir in a public circular informed today that Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Mokokchung will be converted to COVID-19 Hospital with effect from April 6, 2020. It was also informed that all the in-patients at IMDH will be shifted to Lenjem Hospital on April 6 and that new patients seeking emergency health care at IMDH will be diverted to Lenjem Hospital. Only COVID-19 suspected cases will be entertained and admitted at IMDH, the deputy commissioner informed.
One held in Tuli
Personnel of Tuli Police Station under Mokokchung district on April 3 intercepted a vehicle, a Maruti car bearing registration number AS-05-A-7828, and detected 4 grams of suspected brown sugar from the possession of one Aosunep. The interception happened at around 9:00 pm. Mokokchung Additional Superintendent of Police, Imtimeren said that a case has been registered at Tuli Police Station in this regard under appropriate sections of law and that further investigations are on.
