
Dimapur, April 9 (MExN): Mt. Zion School, Dimapur conducted a one-day teacher’s orientation programme on March 12 with the theme ‘Be a better teacher.’ The resource person was Khyopenthung Tsopoe, Assistant Prof and HoD, Department of English, Mount Tiyi College Wokha.
In the first session, the resource person shared on various teaching techniques, understanding the psychology of the students, use of visual aids, on developing positive attitude and tips on becoming a teacher with a difference. In the second session, the teachers demonstrated their classroom teaching methods and constructive feedbacks and comments were given by the resource person and the other participants.
A press release from the school informed that the programme was chaired by Headmaster Chumjamo Ezung. Short speeches of encouragement and motivation were delivered by E. Lotha, Administrator, Mt. Zion School and Dr. Mhonlumi K. Tsopoe, VAS, Wokha.
The day long programme came to a close with concluding remarks by the Headmaster who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the participants and remarked that such an orientation programme for teachers was being conducted for the first time in the school and that the faculty had highly benefitted from the programme.
