Naga students in Bangalore celebrate 48th Fresher’s Meet

Bangalore, September 24 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) celebrated its 48th Fresher’s Meet on September 23 at United Theological College, Bangalore. The event saw participation from all the sub-unit student bodies and members; it was a colorful event showcasing the rich culture and tradition of the Nagas, said a press release from the union.   The chief guest for the event, Yuikan Shirik, MD of Brand Neuron, enlightened the audience by sharing valuable lessons from his life experiences – the many struggles he faced to pursue his dreams. He emphasized on having hope despite all odds and taking action to achieve the dreams. He proposed a novel idea of creating a platform which will be a launch pad to grow the Naga community.   Meanwhile, the President of NSUB, Nuthipru Nienu reminded the freshers to always put God first in all their endeavors, to look forward to their family as a hope-bearer and to chase or set oneself as a benchmark for attaining future goals, the release stated. He also congratulated the visionary pioneers of the past and present leaders for fostering peace and harmony amongst the Nagas which made it possible to celebrate an occasion such as this.   The first session started with an invocation prayer by Khumlo Kanrang, Pastor ANCB followed by a welcome song by students of Berean Baptist Bible College. Nikato Yepthomi, Worship Pastor, Naga Christian Fellowship Bangalore, offered a prayer for freshers. The session ended with a prayer by Haigwateing Meru, Pastor, Zeme Christian Fellowship Bangalore.   In the second session, there were a plethora of cultural activities including folk song, traditional attire shows and exhibition of talents from individuals and groups alike.   After various rounds of testing the ingenuity and personality of freshers, Kuzote Lohe and Haisen Apon were crowned Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher respectively. The cultural event concluded with vote of thanks from Apango Ezung, Cultural Secretary NSUB. The closing prayer was pronounced by Dr. Kaholi Zhimomi, Asst. Professor, United Theological College.   The release mentioned that NSUB launched its official office number to assist and support the Nagas in times of need. The 48th NSUB Fresher’s Meet was sponsored by Caffe Maven and co-sponsored by Somilan Steak House, Angami Students’ Union Bangalore, Maring Student’s Union Bangalore, Tangkhul Bapstist Church and Tangkhul Students’ Union Bangalore.
