Nagaland: 14 new COVID cases, 20 new recoveries

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 28 (MExN): 14 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Nagaland on December 28 taking the State’s tally to 11,911. This was out of 145 samples tested.

Meanwhile, the State also registered 20 new recoveries bringing down the number of active cases in Nagaland to 243. The new recoveries include 6 each from Kohima and Mokokchung, 5 from Dimapur and 3 from Tuensang. The total number of recoveries so far is 11,458. 

Of the new cases detected on Monday, 5 are from Mokokchung, 3 from Dimapur and 2 each from Kiphire and Kohima. 

In terms of severity of cases, the Health Department’s daily bulletin informed that 220 cases are asymptomatic, 15 have mild symptoms, 3 have moderate symptoms, 1 has severe symptoms and is on oxygen, while 4 cases are in ICU and on ventilators. 

Meanwhile, 69 deaths have been reported in the State so far and 10 deaths have been classified as not COVID-19 related. 

A total of 1,539 people are currently under home quarantine while 148 positive cases are under home isolation. 

Dimapur continues to lead the number of total cases with 6,389, followed by Kohima (3,709), Mokokchung (603), Peren (502), Tuensang (244), Mokokchung (177), Zunheboto (142), Phek (47), Kiphire (41), Wokha (39), and Longleng (18).
