Nagaland: 26 new cases and 19 more recoveries

Nagaland reported the highest single-day spike in both positive and recovered COVID-19 cases on Friday with 26 new cases and 19 recoveries.


With this, the total tally of COVID-19 infections now stands at 156, with 107 designated as active cases.


According to an official update, the state recorded a total of 19 recoveries in the last 24 hours upto 3:30 pm of June 12. Nagaland now has 49 recovered cases.


As per the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, out of the recovered cases, 6 are in Chedema, 5 in Tuensang DH, 2 in NHAK and 36 from Dimapur DH.


Addressing a press conference here today, Nagaland’s Spokesperson for COVID-19, Neiba Kronu expressed gratitude to frontline workers for such recovery rate.


The Minister informed that all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals.

 

966 more persons reaching Dimapur today
Kronu meanwhile informed that a special train from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, which departed with 966 persons on June 9, will be reaching Dimapur on June 13 at 5:30 am.


This train has been boarded by the stranded people of Nagaland from the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, said Kronu.


He said that another special train from Delhi with about 1000 persons will be leaving Delhi on June 14 at 6:00 am and will reach Dimapur on June 16.
