Mokokchung, March 31 (MExN): The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has welcomed the reported ‘revival’ bid of the Nagaland Pulp & Paper Corporation Limited (NPPCL) or Tuli Paper Mill, under a new parent company while calling for strict measures to safeguard the Corporation’s land from encroachment.
According to the AKM, the revival of NPPCL under 3A Capital Services Ltd marks a significant milestone in fulfilling the long-cherished aspiration of the district for industrial rejuvenation and economic progress.
In this regard, the student body extended its full support to Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as he embarks on new ventures to revitalise industrial development in Mokokchung district. It noted that the commitments and assurances made by the Chief Minister during his recent visit to Tuli on March 12 reaffirmed the State Government’s dedication to restoring NPPCL’s operations in partnership with 3A Capital Services Ltd.
However, the AKM stressed that for the revival process to succeed, it is imperative to safeguard all NPPCL-owned land across Mokokchung district and other parts of Nagaland from encroachment.
It urged the Government of Nagaland to implement strict measures to prevent unauthorised occupation, ensuring that no hindrance arises in the industrial revival efforts.
The AKM further appealed to all stakeholders, including local communities, to cooperate in the restoration of NPPCL, stating that its revival will create employment opportunities, boost economic growth, and benefit the entire region and the state.
Reaffirming its commitment to working alongside the State Government, the AKM asserted that it remains dedicated to ensuring the smooth implementation of the revival project for the greater good of Mokokchung district and Nagaland.
