Sechü Zubza FC emerged the champions of the 1st Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League, which concluded at on August 29 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
In final match, Sechü Zubza FC defeated Mez & Co 3–1 to lift the cup.
Mez & Co took an early advantage when Nisede Peseyie found the net in the 19th minute, giving his side a 1–0 lead. Sechü Zubza FC, however, responded before half-time, with Kevisanyü Peseyie equalising in the 35th minute to make it 1–1.
The contest remained evenly poised through the second half, with neither side able to break the deadlock in regulation time. Mez & Co were dealt a blow in the 61st minute when Radovei Roshimai was shown a yellow card. He received a second yellow in the 103rd minute, resulting in a red card and leaving Mez & Co to play a man short for the remainder of the match.
The match then entered 30 minutes of extra time, where Sechü Zubza FC eventually took control. Kevisanyü Peseyie struck again in the 93rd minute to put SZFC ahead for the first time in the final.
With Mez & Co reduced to 10 men, Sechü Zubza continued to push for a decisive third goal. Their efforts paid off in the 116th minute when captain Kekhrieletuo Tsira found the back of the net to make it 3–1 and seal the Champions Cup for Sechü Zubza FC.
The victory completes a remarkable campaign for Sechü Zubza FC, who had already finished the league stage at the top of the table with a perfect record before defeating Tsütuonuomia Youth Organisation 3–1 in the first semi-final. They now finish the competition as both league and Champions Cup winners.
The final match was officiated by Michael Dul as referee, with Medochülie Chütso and Kezevituo Vizo as Assistant Referees.
Vihetuo Chietsu served as the Fourth Official, while Medozevi Punyü was the Match Commissioner.
The 1st Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League 2026 was organized by Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, from August 12-29.
K Neibou Sekhose, President, Nagaland Football Association, and Executive Member of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) graced the closing ceremony as the Guest of Honour.
The closing ceremony was chaired by Medolenuo Ambrocia Loucü, press secretary KDFA while vote of thanks was proposed by Neikhriezonuo Miachieo, Joint Secretary KDFA.
