65 suspected samples test negative, 4 results awaited

 

DIMAPUR, APRIL 9 (MExN): 65 suspected COVID-19 samples from Nagaland have tested negative as of 5:00pm April 9, informed Principal Secretary for Home, Abhijit Sinha today.


In total, 69 samples from the State have been sent for testing, and results for four samples are awaited. 


Sinha assured that availability of food grains, medicines, POL and other essential goods and commodities continue to be normal in the State. 


He informed that the Chief Minister today held a review meeting on the COVID-19 situation in the State and on the preparedness of the Health Department. 


The Principal Secretary also informed that the State Government has ordered for conduct of a Magisterial Inquiry by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nuiland, into the incident involving Dr Nosezol Sezo, an Orthopaedic Surgeon of Civil Hospital, Dimapur who was reportedly assaulted and his vehicle damaged by police personnel while he was returning home on April 3. 


“The Inquiry will go into all the facts and circumstance leading to the incident and fix responsibilities on those guilty,” he assured. Sinha informed that the Inquiry Officer has been asked to submit the report latest by April 18.
