274 samples sent for testing, 222 negative, results for 48 awaited
 

DIMAPUR, APRIL 17 (MExN): 274 samples have been sent for COVID-19 testing from the State as of 6:00pm of April 17. This includes 48 samples which were sent on April 17. 


Home Commissioner, Abhijit Sinha today informed that results for 222 samples have come back negative, while results for 48 are awaited. Meanwhile, 4 samples have been sent back for re-testing. 


In relation to the COVID positive patient from Dimapur detected in Guwahati, a total of 141 samples of the persons, which includes co-passengers, health care workers and family members; connected with the patient, have been collected till now and sent for testing. Out of this, results of 138 samples have been received and all are negative. The results of 3 samples are awaited.


The Home Commissioner appealed to the people for continued adherence to the lockdown measures and requested everyone to stay at home and come out only if it is unavoidable for buying food items and other essential commodities.


Meanwhile, the Chief Minister today held a video conference with all the Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and the Chief Medical Officers to review the implementation of the lock down measures and the state of preparedness for combating COVID-19. 


The districts gave a detailed briefing of their preparedness and also mentioned about the various issues pertaining to their districts. The Chief Minister complemented everyone for the efforts made till now, and advised for continued vigil on the situation and more interventions by the officers for further enhancing the level of preparation.
