-Agriculture continues to be the mainstay of Nagaland's economy, providing livelihood to more than 60% of the population.

-The total crops production increased by 2%, rising from 1157520 MT (metric tonnes) in 2022-23 to 1179057 MT in 2023-24. 

-Fertiliser and pesticide use steadily decreased from 1,863.80 MT in 2019-20 to 735.80 MT in 2023-24. 

-Liquid pesticide use dropped from 33,890 litres in 2021-22 to 10,319 litres in 2023-24. 

-Out of the total geographical area of the State (16,579 sq.km), Forest land constitutes the largest share at 52.08%(862,930 ha), followed by net sown area at 22.07%(365,605 ha). 

-Fruit production increased by 3%from 333,435.3 MT in 2022-23 to 342,475.5 MT in 2023-24

-Vegetable production and productivity dropped by 1.6% and Spices saw a 3% rise in in total production

-Sericulture production increased in the State with Mokokchung registering the highest sericulture production. 

-The state produces 42.57 percent of its meat, egg, and dairy needs, valued at Rs 1,020.67 crores, with a 57.43% shortfall. To meet the gap, it imported animal husbandry products worth Rs. 271.99 crores.

- The total fish production increased from 9,284.99 MT in 2022-23 to 9,695.71 MT in 2023- 24, marking a growth rate of 4.42%
