Nagaland logs 31 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths 

Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): Nagaland reported more recoveries than fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday as 35 people were cured of the disease while 31 new cases pushed the cumulative tally of infections to 31,441. 

According to the daily health bulletin compiled by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), 2 more fatalities were also reported from Dimapur in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s official COVID death toll to 656. This excludes 15 other deaths that were classified as ‘Non COVID deaths (with COVID positivity)’ in the bulletin.

Out of the fresh cases, 25 were reported from Dimapur, 2 each from Kohima and Phek, and 1 each from Mokokchung and Kiphire district and the state now has 277 active cases out of which 207 are asymptomatic, 51 have mild symptoms, 7 are moderate on oxygen, another 7 people have severe symptoms and are receiving oxygen support, 1 is in ICU without ventilator, and 4 people are in the ICU on ventilators, the bulletin stated.
