70th CBCC general council from Jan 23-24

Kohima, January 17 (MExN): The Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) will hold its 70th annual general council at Thuvopisu Baptist Church from January 23 to 24 under the theme ‘Stronger together.’ Rev Kevengoi Sakha will speak on the topic ‘Stronger together in Christ’ while Rev Dr Phuveyi Dozo and Rev Vikuo Rhi will speak on the themes ‘Stronger together- Mission & Salvation’ and ‘Stronger Together- Church & Contemporary challenges’ respectively. The Bible Study will be led by Rev Dr Yiepetso Wezah. 
Due to prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, all the churches under CBCC have been requested to send only four delegates each for those having about 500 Baptist members and two delegates for those having less than 500 Baptist members. Wearing of mask will be mandatory, CBCC stated.

CAMA annual general session on January 22

Kohima, January 17 (MExN): The Chokri Area Mothers Association (CAMA) will hold its 10th annual general session on January 22 at Thipuzu village in Phek district. Vosulu Tetseo will be the guest speaker. The Chairpersons of all the women organizations, women VDB secretaries and women pastors irrespective of denomination have been invited to the session. All the delegates have been requested to wear traditional dress during the session. 

CPO mourns

Kohima, January 17 (MExN): The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) has mourned the demise of Dr Velü-o Shijoh, retired Additional Director (SIRD) who passed away on January 12. A press release from the CPO stated that “he was highly dedicated and a sincere government servant.” “It is indeed a great loss to the Chakhesang community where his concern and contribution towards our people is exceptional in various counts which are to be cherished and remembered,” stated CPO President, Mikha Kenye and General Secretary, Veduvo Rhakho. The CPO meanwhile extended condolences to the bereaved family. 

MHSU selects new team 

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 17 (MExN): The Mopong Hongkong Students Union (MHSU) at its 35th session general conference elected a new team of office bearers. A press release from the MHSU informed that the new team will be led by L Kholee as President, Y Lhamnyei as Vice President and A Moba Konyak as General Secretary. The new team will execute their term of office till January 2024. 

NIDA meeting on Jan 22

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 17 (MExN): The Nagaland In Service Doctors’ Association (NIDA) has informed that an emergency executive body meeting of the association has been convened at Kohima on January 22 to deliberate the “failure” of the government to accept its demands to increase the superannuation age of medical doctors “as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016.” A press release from the NIDA informed that the meeting will be held at Hotel Japfu at 11:00am.
