Nagaland CEO announces creation of 38 new polling stations
Kohima, September 18 (MExN): The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland has announced the creation of 38 new polling stations across all 60 Assembly Constituencies in the State as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of the Electoral Roll (Phase-III). The rationalization exercise was initiated following house-to-house enumerations conducted by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), as mandated by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Under this drive, all existing polling stations that catered to more than 1,200 electors were identified for rationalization. The new polling stations were established based on recommendations submitted by District Election Officers after consulting with various political parties and obtaining formal approval from the ECI. With these additions, the total number of polling stations in Nagaland has now reached 2,399.
Nagaland Police streamlines tenant registration with upgraded digital portal
Dimapur, September 18 (MExN): To further improve the efficiency of landlord-tenant registration across the state, the Nagaland Police has upgraded its official tenant registration portal and mobile application. According to a press release issued by the PRO of Nagaland Police Headquarters (PHQ) on September 18, 2026, the newly upgraded portal can be accessed at [https://tenant.police-nagaland.com/](https://tenant.police-nagaland.com/). Furthermore, the updated tenant mobile app is available for download directly through the new portal or via the official Nagaland Police website at [https://police.nagaland.gov.in/](https://police.nagaland.gov.in/). The police clarified that data from all previous submissions made by landlords and tenants has been safely saved and migrated to the new portal, meaning users do not need to re-update their old records. However, stakeholders have been requested to download the new tenant app and register for any new data submissions.
NSCN-K (Niki) informs on recovered auto-rickshaw
Kohima, September 18: The NSCN-K (Niki) has recovered a three-wheeler passenger auto-rickshaw and asked its rightful owner to come forward and claim the vehicle by producing valid documents within seven days of publication of the information. According to a press statement issued by its MIP, the recovered auto-rickshaw bears registration number NL 07 F 7403, chassis number MD2A23AZ5DWF46497 and engine number ZHZDWF53960. The rightful owner has been asked to contact 8413825947 and produce valid documents to establish ownership and claim the vehicle within the stipulated seven-day period.
