The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Zunheboto, Mission Vatsalya, Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland organized a sensitization program on the roles and responsibilities of VLCP under Zunheboto, Satakha and Suruhuto block respectively on November 18.  District Child Protection Officer, Zunheboto, Ruzonuo Rita Rutsa, spoke elaborately about the roles and responsibilities of village level child protection committee (VLCPC). In addition, Legal cum Probation Officer, Khetoholi J Yepthomi, spoke on child rights. KitoAyemi, Protection Officer(IC) chaired the programme.

During routine patrolling at around 7 am on November 22, vigilant personnel from the Assam Rifles spotted debris from a landslide on Pedi-Kohima road near Benrue village. Upon realizing that the huge debris is going to cause disruption in transportation and connectivity for the locals, the troops of Assam Rifles swiftly alerted Def of BRTF seeking their assistance in providing necessary equipment and machinery to clear the debris. With the combined efforts of the AR and the BRTF, the debris was cleared within 3 hours ensuring resumption of transport services. (PRO, HQ IGAR-North)
