Members of the Lions Club of Dimapur Elite organized a hunger drive at Bokajan, where they served more than 250–300 cows, including ill, blind, street cows, calves, those who no longer give milk as well as cows that still give milk. The project was held under the leadership of Meena Sethi, President, and was led by Project Chairperson Prity Jain and Co-Chairperson Poonam Jain.
Mekokla Students’ Union on September 13 held the first committee meeting for the forthcoming 75th year jubilee at GHS premises, Mekokla Village. All together 16 constituted committees and former leaders including Village council, MEH attended the meeting. The committees deliberated on various agendas and presented their estimated budget. The 75 Jubilee Monolith Stone was sponsored by the family of late Z Yanthan, founder of MSU and Jubilee Memento was sponsored by Dr Hoghuka and Dr Apilo Kikon.Department of History at MGM College hosted an Inter-Departmental Quiz Quest on September 12. The event, sponsored by Mahendra’s Institute, Dimapur, saw participation from 14 students representing seven different academic departments of the college. The top three winners were awarded certificates of appreciation and cash prizes for the first, second, and third positions, respectively. Each participant was presented with a certificate of participation and a pen.In an effort to motivate and expose young students to the workings of district administration, the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, NCS, launched the “One Day with Deputy Commissioner” initiative on September 12. The first batch of five students from Dr N Kire Government Higher Secondary School visited the DC Office, Kohima, and participated in an interactive session designed to provide valuable insights into public service and governance.The Oriental College Kohima in partnership with National Mental Health Programme (NMHP), National Health Mission (NHM) and Carl Rogers Institute of Mental Health and Research Centreobserved World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10.The Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the NSS Wing of Yingli College, organised the District Level Youth Festival 2025 here on September 13. The event, held at the Borgohain Hall in Yingli College, Longleng, featured competitive events in declamation, folk song, and folk dance. Three institutions participated in the festival: Bautung Govt Hr Secondary School, Longleng; Orangkong Village Students Union; and the host, Yingli College, Longleng. Dr B Henshet Phom, Vice-Principal of Yingli College, delivered the welcome address. The event saw participation from 116 individuals, including NSS Volunteers.
