Nagaland Agriculture Minister G. Kaito Aye met the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Radha Mohan Singh in New Delhi on June 17. Kaito submitted a proposal for Nagaland State organic farming. The Union Minister said the Ministry is supportive of the proposal and asked the State to submit the state plan of action for organic farming, according to a press release from PRO (IPR), Nagaland House, New Delhi. Kaito was accompanied by the Nagaland JDU president, Senchumo NSN Lotha.
Sumo Drivers’ Union, Mokokchung organized a ‘goodwill’ visit to the District Jail on Father’s Day, June 17. The president of the union, Yanger addressed the inmates at the programme held at the jail Chapel Hall. I Imkong Jamir, Legal Advisor of the union delivered a short speech. In celebration of Father’s Day, the union presented gifts to the inmates and security guards.
