‘NCD will have no objection for burial at Naga Cemetery’

Dimapur, April 24 (MExN): A coordination meeting between the Dimapur District Administration and Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) was held at Hotel Saramati on April 24 regarding the issue of burial at Naga Cemetery.
NCD General Secretary Thsapongkyu Sangtam in a press release stated that after a threadbare discussion, “the earlier statement issued by the NCD which created communication gap has been resolved.”
“While we hope and pray that there would not be even a single death case out of the pandemic, if at all such eventuality arises, the NCD will have no objection for burial at Naga Cemetery although there is very limited space in the present cemetery,” NCD stated while adding that both the sides agreed to strictly adhere to the Guidelines on Dead Body Management issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI.
It was also agreed that the district administration and the medical department will jointly create awareness in the minds of the people regarding burial and its guidelines. It was agreed that the NCD will fully support and cooperate with the state government arid district administration in the fight against the pandemic.
