Organized by Yana in Style in collaboration with Dimapur based ASA (Aren, Sungkum, Aren), the third edition of North East India Fashion Week at AIDA Hall, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on September 30 at 5 pm. Addressing media persons in Dimapur on Thursday, the organizers said that the designers would be showcasing weaving products from the NE with the objective of promoting weavers and their handloom products. All NE states except Sikkim have confirmed their participation during the event where renowned Indian footballer, Bhaichang Bhutia would also be present. The organizers said they have been organizing the annual event to showcase traditional weaving designs and to create awareness on the need to preserve the art of weaving. During the event, Naga weavers from Angami, Lotha, Ao and Konyak would be showcasing their products with a touch from designers besides other NE states. Weavers from Assam and Nagaland also expressed their gratitude to Yana in Style for providing them a platform to showcase their products. ASA member, Sungkum said that the offer to host the event was readily accepted in order to make it a launching pad to promote Naga weavers and let others explore the state as well.
