Committee on women reservation calls meeting Kohima, April 15 (MExN): The Joint Action Committee on Women Reservation (JACWR) comprising NMA, TWO, Watsu Mungdang, ENWO, and NWHD has convened a meeting on April 19, 11:00 am at the HRLN Office, near DUDA Guest House, Kohima. Therefore, all Presidents and Secretaries from all tribe apex women organizations, NMA Advisors have been requested to attend the said meeting positively.  

  Holy Cross School celebrates 50 years today Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): Holy Cross Higher Secondary School is celebrating its Golden Jubilee on April 16 with Nagaland Home Minister, Y Patton as chief guest and Most Rev Fr James Thoppil, Bishop of Nagaland, and Parliamentary Secretary for Irrigation & Flood Control, Jacob Zhimomi as guests of honour. The programme will begin at 4:00 pm with the unveiling of monolith and golden jubilee tree plantation, informed a press release. The school has invited all the parents, well-wishers and alumni to attend the programme, while adding that all former principals, headmistress, and vice-principals are also attending the celebration. In the morning, Golden Jubilee Mass will be held in the Parish Church, followed by a basketball match between alumni and present & past staff.     Consultative meet on NERP Kohima, April 15 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor has informed that the consultative meeting on National Electoral Rolls Purification drive to improve the quality of the electoral rolls will be held with all the recognized political parties of Kohima district unit, Angami Public Organization, Angami Students’ Union, Angami Women Organization, Rengma Hoho, Rengma Women Hoho, Rengma Students’ Union, Angami Baptist Church Association, Angami Catholic Union, Angami Christian Revival Church Union, Rengma Baptist Church Association, Rengma Catholic Union, Rengma Christian Revival Church Union, Kohima Town Wards Council/Union, Media and Kohima district Head of Offices on April 18 at 1:00 pm in the DC Conference Hall, Kohima. Therefore concerned organization/union/Association/District Head of Office have been requested to depute representative(s) to attend the meeting.     One arrested in Kohima Kohima, April 15 (MExN): The Mobile Unit of DEF Kohima while conducting MVCP at Paramedical junction area in Kohima detained one Maruti Esteem bearing registration No. AS-01K-1450, where it was discovered that the chassis and engine number engraved in the vehicle and smart card did not tally. Accordingly, the vehicle owner Md. Nazir Hussain (20) was taken into police custody. Meanwhile, a regular case vide Kohima South PS Case No 0023/16 U/S 468/471 IPC was registered against the arrested person for conducting further investigation. This was informed in a release issued by PRO, Kohima Police.     Power supply disrupted in Phek Kohima, April 15 (MExN): Power supply to Phek district has been disrupted due to a technical snag developed in the main incomer 33 kV circuit breaker at Meluri Sub-Station on April 15. Informing this in a press release, Executive Engineer, Transmission Division, Kohima assured that the department is making all efforts to repair and restore the power supply at the earliest and asked the public to bear with the inconvenience caused.     WHKAA meeting today Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): Wester Huker Kiuru Arih Ako (WHKAA) has convened a joint meeting on April 16, 9:00 am at the residence of its treasurer at Loyir village. Therefore, all the office bearers and executive members have been requested to attend the meeting positively.     Tovihoto condoles Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): MLA & Chairman of Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC) Ltd Tovihoto Ayemi has expressed sadness at the demise of L Vihoto Sumi. He was the Head GB and founder of L Vihoto Village under Dimapur district, the former chairman of Sunrise colony and United North Block, Burma Camp and a former president of Western Sumi Students’ Union and Western Sumi Hoho. In a condolence note, Tovihoto described late Vihoto as a dynamic and selfless social worker who will always be remembered for his contribution to public life and taking a principled stand on public and grassroots issue. “In this sorrow times, I, on behalf of my family would like to express my deepest and most sincere condolences,” Tovihoto added.     NPCB to inspect industries Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): The Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) officials will be undertaking inspection of industries in and around Dimapur and Chumukedima, especially the stone crushing units. A press release from Rusovil John, NPCB Member Secretary said it had been experienced in the past that whenever inspection are conducted documents are not kept at the site of the industry and the workers are not able to furnish proper information, in many cases. Therefore, the industrial units have been requested under Section 5 of the Environment (Protection) Act,1986 to keep the following ready at the site of the industry for ready reference: A signboard indicating the name of the unit; Copy of Industrial License; Copy of Lease Agreement, in case the industry is operated in a lease land; Copy of “No Objection Certificate” from the village/ colony council; Copy of latest Electricity Bill from the Power department; Copy of Consent Certificate by Nagaland Pollution Control Board.
