
Dimapur, April 23 (MExN): The Nagaland NGOs Forum (NNF) today highlighted various issue regarding improvement of better service delivery mechanism in the State to combat the COVID 19 pandemic.
In an appeal to the Nagaland Chief Secretary, appended by its President Dr Hesheto Y Chishi and General Secretary, Chenithung Humstoe, the Forum suggested following measures for consideration.
- Acknowledge services of NNF as a professional Forum assisting Government in many areas as an implementing agencies, consultant, State level committee members and performing grassroots community based schemes and project.
- Inclusion of NNF as an apex body in any government, CSO and NGO joint coordination bodies at state or district level
- Local authority body needs to be oriented well for better coordination and to refrain from issuing self style orders which creates more panic amongst the people and disharmony.
- Constitute public grievance redresses cell of few members and all concern updates and guidelines be updated through this cell.
- Need standard mechanism to asses’ relief mailers, a relief monitoring committee comprising of village/colony leaders, youth leaders and women leaders in each area.
- Needy beneficiaries list must be maintained transparently, distribution list must be maintained transparently.
- Strictly enforce basic Safety protocols of mask and social distancing
- Encourage Churches and church leaders to play key role in strengthening hands of Govt in maintaining calm and meeting needs of local community.
- Effective mechanism for distribution of Essential commodities
- System of utilizing hotels as quarantine should be discouraged, rather invest its resources at respective government hospitals or at any public utility for future benefits.
- Evacuate all the stranded travellers, students, guest labourers to their respective home, village, town, and states.
