DIMAPUR, APRIL 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today suggested that citizens of Nagaland who have been stranded outside the state should be given “monthly maintenance of at least Rs 10,000 to 15,000 per month each” if they are to be denied entry into the State for the time being.
A press release from the NPCC President, K Therie said that thousands of Nagaland’s
“subjects” are in lockdown elsewhere in the nation and abroad. It pointed out that schools and colleges are closed, contract employees have lost jobs while travellers on business trips, tourists, patients and attendants are stranded.
“Many are preparing to come back home once the Lockdown is relaxed. It is the responsibility of the State to receive them in whatever condition they may be for they are the State Government’s subjects. However, I leave it to the Government to decide the future course,” he stated.
