Kohima, October 9 (MExN): The Kitsubozou unit of the Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) held a pledge-taking programme for its office-bearers and frontal organisations at Kitsubozou Panchayat Hall, Kohima on October 7 last.
Addressing the programme, 14th Southern Angami-I Assembly Constituency NPF President Neilhouvi Chütso described the NPF as the oldest and strongest regional political party in Nagaland and the Northeast, committed to the welfare of the Naga people and protection and preservation of Naga identity.
He said that people from other political parties have been joining the NPF after understanding its policies and priorities under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio.
Chütso said the NPF was ready to accommodate all like-minded people and would continue to serve the people with sincerity. He also appreciated the Kitsubozou unit for remaining steadfast and upholding the party's principles.
NPF General Secretary (COB) Kekhriezelie Khezhie and newly inducted Kitsubozou unit president Aphre called upon party workers to work diligently for the victory of the NPF candidate in the forthcoming elections.
Kitsubozou Panchayat Chairman Dzieseneilie Sachü also exhorted the gathering.
The pledge was administered by Aziebu Theyo, Vice-President of NPF 14th Southern Angami-I AC. The new team, led by Chasekietuo Peter Chase as president and Mhasisetuo Sachü (administration) and Rhangolu Pohena (establishment) as general secretaries, will hold office till 2030.
The programme was chaired by Sarhünyi Shupao, treasurer of the 14th Southern Angami-I AC NPF Farmers' Wing while NPF Kitsubozou unit adviser Khrievor Sekhose proposed the vote of thanks.
