NSLSA organises mini legal services camp in Niuland, 259 beneficiaries avail schemes

Niuland, June 6 (MExN): The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), in collaboration with the Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and the district administration, organised a Mini Legal Services Camp at Niuland town on Saturday, with more than 259 beneficiaries availing various government schemes and legal services.

The programme began with an invocation by Assistant Pastor of Sumi Baptist Church, Niuland, Kiyevi Zhimomi.

Delivering the keynote address, NSLSA Member Secretary Neiko Akami, NJS, highlighted the legal services available for different categories of beneficiaries and stressed that no individual should be deprived of justice or legal assistance due to lack of access. He urged the public to avail themselves of the various schemes and entitlements offered through the legal services camp.

Deputy Commissioner of Niuland T.L. Kiusumong Tikhir, NCS, appreciated the initiative of the NSLSA in delivering legal services and encouraged beneficiaries, particularly members of weaker and vulnerable sections of society, to make use of the facilities available. He also assured the district administration's continued support for similar awareness programmes and welfare initiatives in the future.

Chairman of the Dimapur DLSA and Principal District and Sessions Judge N. Longshithung Ezung delivered the welcome address, while Secretary of the Dimapur DLSA and Chief Judicial Magistrate Atoka Achumi proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was chaired by panel lawyer Thiuswangwiliu of the Dimapur DLSA, while the NSLSA theme song was presented by Kivitoli Aye and her team.

During the day-long camp, more than 259 beneficiaries accessed services and entitlements provided by various government departments and agencies, including Aadhaar registration, Scheduled Tribe and Indigenous Inhabitant registration, the Social Welfare Department, Chief Medical Office, Statistics Department, Forest Department, Agriculture Department, Fisheries Department, Labour Department, Transport Department, Horticulture Department, State Bank of India and the District Child Protection Unit, among others.
