NSUP takes measures to help stranded students in Phagwara   

Dimapur, April 5 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Union Phagwara, Punjab on Saturday, provided updates on the activities taken up by the Union to help students who have been stranded in Punjab.

 


According to a press release, the Union received Rs 1 lakh from the Government of Nagaland as relief fund with the initiative of Shanavas C, Nodal Officer and Principal Director of School Education on April 2. A total of 57 students were provided with financial assistance to buy basic essentials, the release stated.

 


Earlier on April 1, NSUP President Imsanger Jamir along with the General Secretary Rokozolie Tsürho visited the residence of five Nagas in Jalandhar who were facing various problems due to the ongoing lockdown situation. The stranded students were provided with essential commodities like rice, cooking oil, induction stove etc and an amount of Rs 500 was handed in cash to relieve minor inconveniences, the press release stated.

 


Meanwhile, the NSUP expressed gratitude towards the initiative taken up by the Government of Nagaland to help the Naga students amidst the ongoing lockdown.
