Nurses plea for PPE has been resolved, says MS

Photos of a letter addressed to the Medical Superintendent, COVID Hospital Dimapur from the nursing personnel at the hospital went viral on Wednesday causing outrage among the public on various social media networks.

 


In the letter, the nursing personnel raised its concerns and grievances to the Medical Superintendent for redressal. It appealed the MS to provide proper PPE for nurses without which they would not assist or attend to any suspected COVID-19 cases. It also requested the MS to detail only lab technicians to assist the pathologist during sample collection from suspected COVID-19 cases.

 


When contacted, Medical Superintendent Dr Kheshito Zhimomi stated that “it is a small matter and it has been resolved.” No other details were provided.

 


Nurses contacted by The Morung Express refused to comment stating that they were not authorized to speak as per the state government’s ‘gag order’ that was issued today.
