Kohima, October 16 (MExN): The Nagaland University Students Union (NUSU) Kohima Campus expressed its discontentment with the Directorate stating the latter broke the decision of not talking to media as agreed at the meeting on Monday.
A press release from the NUSU (KC) clarified that the Directorate broke the agreement telling the media that “they did not receive scholarship forms from NU except for the Department of English.”
The Union maintained that the University had already submitted it last year.
The release issued by its President and General Secretary informed that the NUSU (KC) officials along with the dealing assistant from the University had a meeting with the Directorate on Tuesday and “found that the University had indeed submitted the documents of all departments as it has been claiming.”
NUSU further informed that there has been a mistake on the part of the University for not submitting the PMS and Merit scholarship list separately.
It, however, noted that it was the duty of the Directorate to “check the list before accepting it while the submission was done.”
The Directorate, according to NUSU, has admitted its fault in stating “the university had not submitted the documents” and have issued a written assurance that the Department would look into the matter and not deprive the deserving students of their scholarship.
