8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 was marked by a poshan rally organised by Office of the District Programme Officer at the DC Office compound, Wokha on September 30.

The Department of Social Welfare, Wokha, observed the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 with a Poshan Rally organised by the Office of the District Programme Officer (ICDS) at the DC Office compound, Wokha on September 30. It was graced by Renbomo Ezung, NCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Wokha as the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Renbomo Ezung emphasised the significance of nutrition in improving community health. Referring to this year’s themes addressing Obesity, Early Childhood Care and Education (Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi), Infant and Young Child Feeding Practices, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, and Men’s Involvement in Nutrition and Caregiving, he urged all stakeholders to ensure that the celebration of Poshan Maah becomes meaningful and impactful, especially in Wokha district.
Bonathung Ngullie, District Programme Officer (ICDS) Wokha in his welcome address expressed gratitude to the District Administration for its support, the Medical Department for deploying a medical team during the rally, and the Traffic Police and SP Office for ensuring smooth conduct of the programme. Special thanks were also extended to the Forest Department, Wokha Division, for providing free saplings for the plantation drive.
The Poshan Pledge was administered by Khesakevi, Supervisor, Wokha ICDS. The rally was later flagged off by the special guest from the DC Office premises.
The rally concluded at NST Junction, witnessing enthusiastic participation from Anganwadi Workers and Helpers under the Wokha ICDS Project. Participants carried placards highlighting Poshan Abhiyaan initiatives, Anganwadi services, growth monitoring, complementary feeding, PMMVY, and community programmes promoting maternal and child health.
As part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, fruit tree saplings were distributed to all participants for plantation at various Anganwadi centres, symbolising care for both nature and nurturing mothers. The month-long Rashtriya Poshan Maah, observed from 17 September to 16 October, seeks to create mass awareness and collective responsibility on nutrition, targeting women, children, and adolescent girls across the nation.
